Join numerous UCSD volunteers for a day of community service, prior to marching in the MLK, Jr. Parade downtown. You will get hands-on experience working with elementary students in cultivating their community garden, painting murals, and painting other areas of the school to promote learning.

January 20th, we will provide:
Bus transportation to and from campus
Snacks & lunch
Free t-shirt
Direct service, education, reflection and fun
The opportunity to march in a parade!

Schedule:
8:00am - Check-in @ Sun God Lawn
8:15am - Leave for service site
9:00am - Arrive at site and begin service activity
12:00pm - Lunch
12:45pm - Depart for parade
1:15pm - Arrive at parade site
2:00pm - MLK, Jr. 33rd Annual Parade
3:00pm - Leave for UCSD
3:30pm - Arrive at UC San Diego

Day of the Event:
Meet at the Sun God Lawn (Faculty Club Parking Lot) at 8:00am.
Dress comfortably for the weather.
Bring a reusable water bottle.
Come prepared to get your hands dirty and make a POSITIVE impact!

Interested in Volunteering?
UCSD students can attend the MLK Day of Service on the bus by being one of the first 55 participants to sign up. We can accommodate a total of 100 volunteers at the Zamorano Fine Arts Academy for the service project. You still need to RSVP if you plan to drive yourself.
First-come, first-served - Registration fills up quickly!

STUDENTS: Registration is available at the One Stop Desk or via email at rcrawford@ucsd.edu.
You will receive a confirmation email by Thursday, January 17th.

Registration is required for all participants, and waivers will be available at the service site.
